Currently, we have 9 girls who live in Fowl Manor. They all get along pretty well. Mainly their friendly nature is due to their large living areas and multiple food stations. Clara and Nugget are the eldest by a year. We got Clara and Nugget from a feed store nearby. The other 7 chickens we ordered by mail order through My Pet Chicken. They came as “day old’s” (along with the geese) and we raised them in a brooder.
I had the day old’s all sexed (checked to see if they are male or female), and paid for all female. However, one has started crowing in the morning and we have yet to see which one it is. We think it is Lilly, the Ameraucana.
Click on each of the girls picture for more information about each one.
Here’s a link to some tips and facts I have learned about chickens.
